MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team has just released an updated version of Redsn0w that improves iPhone 3GS 06.15.00 baseband downgrade which was originally released last month. In case you don’t already know, Redsn0w now allows iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users sporting iPad’s 06.15.00 baseband to downgrade back to 05.13.04 baseband with a fully working unlock and GPS.

Chronic Dev team has just released an updated version of Absinthe to add support for the iPad2,4 model. Absinthe 2.0.4 supports the following iOS devices running on iOS 5.1.1:
- iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S
- iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad 3
- iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G
Absinthe 2.0.4 doesn't support Apple TV 3.

Redsn0w updates version 0.9.12b1 uses Absinthe’s exploit to jailbreak 5.1.1 untethered. If you have already jailbroken your device using Chronic Dev’s Absinthe, you really don’t need to use Redsn0w now. But if you are a unlocker, and have been waiting for a tool like Sn0wbreeze, PwnageTool or Redsn0w for restoring to a custom firmware (A4 devices only), you would be glad to know that Redsn0w has finally been updated with support for 5.1.1 untether.

Sn0wbreeze 2.9.4 allows users to create custom iOS 5.1.1 firmware file that is pre-jailbroken, which can then be used to upgrade their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to iOS 5.1.1. In case of iPhone, Sn0wbreeze also preserves the baseband from getting upgraded so that it can be unlocked using Ultrasn0w (though Ultrasn0w is not yet compatible with iOS 5.1.1).

The iPhone Dev-Team has release RedSn0w 0.9.11b4 which brings a new feature that allows users to downgrade iPhone 4S, iPad 3 and iPad 2 to iOS 5.0.1 firmware with saved SHSH blobs. Starting with version 0.9.11b4, RedSn0w supports direct restore of IPSWs to your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Version 0.9.11b4 completes the tethered JB support for 5.1.1 on A4 devices and earlier, including proper “Stitching” and “Custom” creation of NO_BB IPSWs.
